But I have to admit: two of the Billy tunes are really, really good: Talkin’ to My Heart and Got It In for You. He sounds better on Time than anywhere on Mask. I credit Bekka for being the right vocal partner…

I found Billy's songs on Time to be a massive step down from his work on Behind the Mask. Country rock isn't a genre I really enjoy, and Time veers far too heavily in that territory. The cheesy synths actually have some charm, and I actually the raucous "Blow by Blow" more than most people.

I agree that McVie's voice was still in very fine form, and she delivered some very fine songs, with "I Do", "Nights in Estoril", and "All Over Again" being my favorites.

In fairness to Billy, those songs weren’t written for a Fleetwood Mac project. These were written when he was focused on his country solo career. Deborah Allen had already released her version of “Talkin’ To My Heart” in 1994. He was brought back in time for the tour.

That said, I wish he would have done a psychobilly song.

The Fleetwood Mac album that I never had time to listen to.

Seriously? Not even Christine's songs?

I like it as well as BTM, and better than SYW.

I really think there's only one real dud on Time- Blow by Blow and it's a pleasant, sunny, varied, listen. The title track aside, BTM is a toilet overflowing with turds.

There's enough angsty, occasionally experimental stuff on SYW maintain my interest 85% of the time and Stevie does at least bring some good songs to the project- I love her take on Smile at you- and John's bass work is great on that. Despite Christine's absence, I prefer it to Mirage and (just) Tango and I suspect I'm in a minority in that.

Really, FM for me is White, Rumours, Tusk, Live, Mirage, and BuckVie. The rest of the Rumours output is mostly filler.

I agree, except that against all odds I liked Behind the Mask, though obviously it's not on the same level as the mentioned albums. And except The Dance that I do love that album because of how I loved the reunion, though it was short. And then I closed my albums fandom.

I rescued only Christine songs from Time. And as WatchChain said in the Rumours forum, without Chris SYW became two solo albums loosely stitched together. So I said meh that year.

And then it appeared BuckVie in 2017, which though I did miss Stevie there, I love it.

Oh, I can listen to the other stuff... but I don't live and breathe it, nor do I love it.

She may have resented Walker for hardly spending any time in the studio.

I don’t think Dave Walker was given a fair chance. I really like ”Look Around You” from Danny’s Midnight In San Juan album, which I assume was a song they did with Hungry Fighter.

Nor was Bekka.
