"Landslide" played in "Jersey Girl"
Saw the late showing of JERSEY GIRL last night.
I got so happy and hyped to my boyfriend when LANDSLIDE came on that I couldn’t tell you which release it was.....!!! They played the gem almost in it’s entirety. :) The end credits just said "written by Stevie Nicks" and "performed by Fleetwood Mac." No date, though..........(and no credit to Buck's lovely guitar playing.... :( ) In JERSEY GIRL, handsome Ben Affleck’s beautiful new girlfriend (Liv Tyler) and his obnoxious 7-year-old daughter beat him into submission (poor guy!) throughout the whole film..... |
Ben needs to be beaten. With a wire hanger. And a cable cord. Then shocked and prodded with cow rods. Then he needs ECT therapy. And a diet of ipecac syrup. Maybe then, only then, will the forces within that mans brain be released.
J Lo? Gigli? That Backstreet Boys facial hair? Man musta borrowed Whitney's pipe. |

I, too, was not that impressed with GWH. I thought it was a bit trite and forced and the acting was slightly contrived. I mean it was a good movie and I liked it. But Oscar worthy - IMO not. Conversely, I thought MD should have been nominated for "The Talented Mr. Ripley" in which he was smoldering as the sociopathic lead.

....Matt Damon had a part in JERSEY GIRL, as well. He's a better actor than Ben Affleck, yet surprisingly Ben acted very well in this picture.
JERSEY GIRL is a fast-paced, sentimental comedy.....well worth the price of admission - and LANDSLIDE! I just tire of the "women rule the world" theme in commercials and flicks. :) |
Agreed...

I will not pay $8 to see this in the movies. Perhaps when it comes out on video....or better yet...HBO....

I'm feelin' the love 'round these parts. :D :wavey:

$8 is inexpensive to see a movie. Consider the cost of a concert, football game (which looks better on TV, anyway :)) or a decent dinner......
Even if you don't like the stars, you always get an education from film.... whether it be from the story, locale, dialogue or fashion... New movies keep you au courant.... I only like to see a movie once....then on to the next blockbuster :), so to see the film on a wall-to-wall screen and super sound system with lots of people enjoying it with you (the flick's volumes so loud you can't hear people talking to each other if they are!) is a great weekend experience. And a movie gives something scintillating for you and your date to talk about at a late dinner afterwards..... |
