The Christine McVie Tribute Concert

If there was a tribute to Christine concert, with guest performers, similar to the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, what artist would you like to see there, and what song would you like to hear?

I'd like to see Annie Lennox there. I wonder if Songbird would be a good choice for her.

Of course Fleetwood Mac members (former or "present", if that word still applies), but the point of this thread is about what Chris (Mac or solo) songs would be cool on what other performers.

Imagine Annie doing Isn't It Midnight!

I'd say if such a thing happened, it'd be safe to assume some past friends/collaborators would be present. Her old buddy Steve Winwood perhaps?

As for more contemporary acts, Vampire Weekend had that nice, simple Everywhere cover years back, and I personally LOVE them, so that's my pick.

Steve Winwood
Bonnie Rait
Annie Lennox
Joni Mitchell
Mick Fleetwood
Lindsey Buckingham
Elton John

Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs - Say You Love Me
Annie Lennox - Songbird
Sheryl Crow - You Make Loving Fun
Fleetwood Mac - Don't Stop
Bonnie Raitt - Oh Daddy
Adele - Why
Elton John with Stevie Winwood - Over My Head
Lindsey Buckingham with The 1975 - Everywhere
Ann & Nancy Wilson - Spare Me A Little of Your Love
Brandi Carlile - Never Make Me Cry
Don Henley & Stevie Nicks - Hold Me

Oy. I’m having flashbacks to that 1998 Legacy Tribute album.

These things are not good. Nobody ever talks about them after two months, and these albums are stillborn, with all those crazy incommensurate singers.

I didn't mean to include an album. Don't know if it would be a good idea. Just the concert.

Wow, this is a great list. I’m not sure I would include the 1975, based on recent claims in the media; maybe Paramore could sing Everywhere, since they already do it live in their shows. I can’t picture Don Henley singing a joyous song like Hold Me, but maybe that’s just me LOL. I’d include Brown Eyes, which must have been a favorite of Christine’s since she sang it fairly often live.

I still enjoy the 1998 Legacy disc when a song pops up on my playlist.

I would be curious to hear Michael McDonald sing "Why"

I like your feedback. We have a slight change to the tribute setlist.

Don & Stevie's rendition of "Hold Me" wasn't working out in soundcheck. Thus, Don & Stevie have decided to duet on "Brown Eyes". Don takes the lead while Stevie twirls and knocks the tambourine while harmonizing on the "sha-la-las".

We've called in a favor, and Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus are now duetting on "Hold Me".

Now I'm curious to see how a duet of Don and Lindsey singing Don't Stop would turn out.
