Any new album news?

He’s working on it, right? Has he talked to the press lately?

UnwindedDreams 05-24-2023 01:26 PM

I haven't heard anything but I'm hoping he announces it next month with a release date in September. That was the timeline for his last one but then that could have been for COVID reasons (like summer 2021 was when concerts came back)

jbrownsjr 05-24-2023 02:50 PM

I hope there is a tribute to Christine on the new album.

Yes, like using the leftovers from Buckingham McVie. I’m sure he will. It will make for good press.

Their combination was my favorite thing about FM. The worked so well together.

The Youtube album documentary and the tv interviews they did together was really heartwarming.

It really was heartwarming. And they recorded of course with John and Mick...

How come they all got along so well? What was missing?

Oh yeah...

I’ll go to my grave knowing that album should’ve been a Fleetwood Mac album. Absolutely STUPID. And we all know the one 5’1” reason why it wasn’t. It would’ve sold marginally better and be slightly more well known than it is but dammit, it’s a Fleetwood Mac album.

It was, and should have been. Stupid old goat ruined the ending of our band. I hope karma gets her, but good.

I agree 100% it’s a shame Stevie wasn’t on it. Time and Say You Will was released as Mac albums because Mick and John were on it. PERIOD!

I just found recent old Fleetwood Mac pictures in his twitter.

John Run 05-26-2023 12:05 PM

Lindsey has taken the best tracks from what was to be his next solo album and contributed them to the next Fleetwood Mac album. The 1987 Fairlight II has been plugged back in to recreate Stevie's and Christine's voices and John’s bass. Mick will come on down to hear the new work and Lindsey will see the kindred spirit that is Mick and invite Mick to replace the programmed drums with live drum tracks, but Lindsey won’t cut the programmed drums, he will keep them all, so their will be nothing short of 76 drum tracks per song. Lindsey will then comment that is the best work the five of them have ever done and Stevie will proudly say these are her best vocals in 35 years.

And then the Grammy voters will add them to the nominations at the last minute, and they will scoop the awards and hug Don Kirshner.

So. No news?

His insta post recently about Christine was really bitter-sweet.

Yes, it was joyful and yet so hard to believe it's been 6 years... and she's passed away.

I’d be surprised if there are any songs left over, considering Buck/Vie only had 10 songs on the album. Stevie made it known she wasn’t going to record with them, so it wasn’t like they were saving room on the album for her. If they had more songs, they should have included them on the album.

If I recall correctly, Christine at some point indicated one song was held back for the future. It should have been included. Any idea which one it was?

That would be great news. I wonder why it wasn’t included?

The song may not have been up to par with the other songs. Given that they felt inclined to rework "Sleeping Around the Corner", a bonus track from Buckingham's 2011 Seeds We Sow, it's certainly possible that they didn't have too many other viable contenders for the album. If I'm not mistaken, Buckingham mentioned in an interview that McVie only brought in a few songs for the album. While Buckingham is a very prolific songwriter, McVie only tended to create new material when an album was on the horizon.

Based on the ASCAP registrations from 2013, they also still might have another song from the original 2011-12 sessions, namely "Is It Right". Several of the other songs listed were eventually released on Extended Play (Miss Fantasy and Sad Angel), Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie (In My World, Lay Down For Free, On With the Show), and Solo Anthology (Hunger). There's also the possibility that "Is it Right" was the working title for "Swan Song".

Seems very likely.

UnwindedDreams 06-16-2023 09:56 AM

I am surprised a single hasn’t been released. I Don’t Mind was released over 2 years ago. I hope he’s in good health!

sanders8323 11-26-2023 03:38 PM

Any updates on the new album?

Villavic 11-26-2023 07:02 PM

Nothing. Lindsey posts old pictures in his networks but no update about his new album or what's going on now. The only recent new was the Will Ferrell event where he was invited. But no posts about the new album.

Considering antecedents, we could expect it in 2030.

Lindsey has been quite prolific for the past couple of decades. It's the old goat who's all dried up.

He has been but with an election coming next year… I’d bet $he’ll have an album out before Lindsey filled with songs telling us how important it is to vote even though $he didn’t for 50+ years! And Show Them The Way will be the bonus track on the Japan release!

Villavic 01-03-2024 03:50 PM

No specific news yet, but yesterday he said he's ready for what's next.

The acoustic snippet of "The Chain" is accompanied by the caption "sneak peak." Wonder if he's planning a compilation of some kind?

Villavic 02-27-2024 03:20 PM

He just posted he's smiling because it's nearly spring.

I don’t think it will be. Just one of his “inspirational” lines. But I’m craving a new Lindsey song.

I still think Stevie will have an album out before him. Sheryl Crow just said in an interview she’s working on a song, at Stevie’s request, that Stevie wrote recently.

sleepless child 04-26-2024 09:58 AM

Is it possible that Stevie and Lindsey are working on something together? I know it sounds implausible, but I saw on twitter last month that someone in Nashville saw them together. Now we hear that Sheryl is working on something with Stevie, and maybe Dave Stewart too? Both based in Nashville. Also Lindsey just posted that photo of things to come, Stevie wrote that poem for Taylor Swift and the next day Lindsey is quoting his poem he would use before doing Go Insane. I know, it sounds childish, but just maybe?

god,I hope not. I really don't think(and hope) that Stevie ever wants anything to do with him again. And shouldn't. Because it's over. Please let it be over.

Well if Japan and USA became business partners after Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima, everything is possible, but I don't think so. And I wouldn't want to see them together again.

sleepless child 04-26-2024 11:39 AM

I honestly hope not either. I am really looking forward to Lindsey's new album. You know the lyrics are going to be killer on everything from his marriage, kids, health and of course Fleetwood mac.

At first I thought it might be his own vocals but slowed down so when played back at regular speed we get his tinkly guitar that he likes to do...

but that sounds totally like someone else's voice...

Reminds me of those snippets in the Destiny Rules documentary.

He must be contributing to someone's track. Don't have a clue who it is.

All those years since Say You Will of wasted opportunities for rocking FM albums!
