Lindsey Music..."With Honors"

:wavey: Hi Fans...FYI...We caught the movie from
1994 on TNT...at 1 am..."With Honors!" It features
Lindsey's music as they drive the old man Simon to
see his son before he dies! "On The Wrong Side!"
sung by Lindsey! Fit right in!
You probably know it is about Harvard students...
especially Monty whose goal in life is to graduate...
"WITH HONORS!"

Fate steps in as he befriends the old bum Simon
who loves Walt Whitman poetry...as Lindsey does!
The guy is dying... friendless... the students take
him home and care for him!!!They take turns reading
W Whitmans "Leaves of Grass" to him as he suffers!
Monty can't get his thesis done right! He graduates
Harvard...but not ..."With Honors"! SO SAD! :distress::(

Quote from Simon:"Hey guys, you'd be surprised how
different the view is on the way out then on the way in!"
LINDSEY RULES MY HEART!!! Luv, Cammie:)

"On the Wrong SIde" is a beautiful song and I was thinking of renting the movie just to hear it, but now I'm glad I didn't. I don't like movies that are about people dying and apparently the hero doesn't even reach his own goal! Give me something more uplifting than that.

Now National Lampoon's Vacation and Back to the Future are AWESOME movies, two of my favorites before I knew who LB was! Lindsey really SCORED with those movies!

That's more than I can say for Stevie. I haven't liked any of the movies that her songs have appeared on very much. (At least the one's I seen. You'd be hard pressed to find American Anthem or Heavy Metal at the local blockbuster).

I did think Twister was a fun move (although definitely not a fave) but she AND Lindsey appeared on that one, so it doesn't count as solo. The rest vary from OK to UGH.

The songs themselves, however, are often better than her album material released at the same time! Case in point: Battle of the Dragon. Getting back to Lindsey, the same can be said for "Holiday Road", which was FAR better than anything else on L&O.

Anyone hear the similarity of his later tune "Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind" to his "On The Wrong Side"?

Just a tad of info on LB and soundtracks, after LB did the song for Back To The Future, he swore he did not want to contribute single songs to soundtracks anymore (but he did With Honors and Twisted). He said he would really like to do to a whole soundtrack for a movie.
I think as a friend of Harold Ramis who did the Vacation movie is how LB got to do two songs, and Ramis even mentioned something about LB doing a song for the Ghostbusters soundtrack which LB declined. I wonder why and if he had done a song, what would it have been like?

LB mentioned turning down the offer to do a tune for Ghostbusters on the Words And Music CD. Something about an offer from Ivan Reitman after Holiday Road but turning it down and not wanting to get "loopholed into this kinda thing" but I've often wondered why he then did Time Bomb Town which was about a year or two after Holiday Road. And I've always wondered what Ghostbusters would have been like if LB wrote/sang the theme song.

lol You reckon? ;)
Both great of course. The highlight (for me) of 'Wrong Side' is that vocal bridge, but SGCYM is like a much more evolved version of this older song.

I'd love to see movie do a whole soundtrack. How long do you think it would take for the movie to come out? 10 years?

More like 15 to 20. Most likely, the film studio producing the movie would be bought out by a larger company thus, a regime change would occur and none of the people Lindsey had previously been working with would be there in which case he'll decide to make a documentary about making a soundtrack to a film that can't get made and, well...then the music will just go toward another Fleetwood Mac album and...you know the rest

This reminds me....there's a song in Ghostbusters, around 3/4 of the way through the movie, which sounds UNCANNILY similar to "Loving Cup". Next time any of you are watching the movie, look out for it....the drum beat is IDENTICAL.
