Rick Will Teach Class on Peter Green

Rick Vito will teach "The Blues of Peter Green PLUS Secrets of Successful Slide Guitar." at the Fur Peace Ranch guitar class, Pomeroy, Ohio in August of 2015.

Rick Vito first became aware of guitarist Peter Green in 1967 when Green was the
featured lead player on John Mayall's "A Hard Road," the amazing follow up to the
groundbreaking "Bluesbreakers featuring Eric Clapton" LP. Peter had real fire in
his playing to be sure, and soon after, started his own blues group which he
called, "Fleetwood Mac."

Rick had the opportunity to see the band live on its first tour of the USA and
was captivated by Peter Green's commanding presence and his sense of "taste,
tone, and technique." Says Vito, "I had seen all the great guitarists of that era
including Hendrix, Beck, Clapton, etc., and while they were all fantastic in
their own way, Peter's playing went straight to my soul! Green managed to fuse a
basic a B.B. King guitar approach with an almost haunting deep feeling,
incorporating influences of various blues greats like Otis Rush, John Lee Hooker,
Robert Johnson and others into a seasoned originality that left all who heard him
play, touched by his magic." Later Green moved in a more "Blues-Rock" direction
that many feel set a course that is continued today by many modern players.
In the Fur Peace Ranch guitar class, Rick Vito (later to go on to a position of
lead guitarist in Fleetwood Mac himself!), will demonstrate the subtleties and
intricacies of Peter's style, covering early Green songs with Mayall ("The
Supernatural") throughout his classic Fleetwood Mac period ("Albatross,"
"Rattlesnake Shake," "Oh Well,") and more.

Students of this class will also benefit from Rick's highly regarded slide guitar
approach (as in his classic solo on Bob Seger's "Like A Rock"), divulging his
personal tips on how to approach the sometimes mystifying elements of slide that
will ultimately lead to success as a slide player. Rick will also perform a concert
with his band, the Lucky Devils, performing many Peter Green songs along with
material his various solo albums.

Wow- this looks like a great event...would love to attend.

I think it might be beyond hope that we'd ever see Rick playing with Peter.
However, how cool would it be to watch King Paris playing a set with Earl Vince?

How could we make this happen?
