Country band Lonestar releases You Make Loving Fun

These guys have been around for 30 ish years, and had a ton of hits(Amazed, Already There, etc...). The guitar player(Michael Britt) is very well known for his "modeling" of classic guitar amps, for all the new guitar processors. In fact, he was at my home about a year ago, buying my 1968 Fender Bandmaster guitar amp head, for his next collection of sounds. But I digress...

Give it a listen. It's pretty cool!

Thanks for sharing. It is cool! I like it very much, the music and the video.

I like it very much and how they stayed pretty close to the Fleetwood Mac arrangement.

I didn't know that lead vocalist Richie McDonald was no longer with the band.

It's a good cover version.

Richie has came and left twice. He left them like 15 years ago, for a solo career, and they replaced him with some guy named Cody(who was with them for probably a decade). Then Richie decided he wanted to come back, about 5 years ago? It didn't last long(maybe 2 years) until he wanted to leave AGAIN. Then they replaced him with Drew- the singer in the video here). When Michael bought my amp, I said, "so wtf is wrong with Richie? Is he crazy?" He just said, "Richie can't make up his mind on what he wants to do". He's now with The Frontmen of Country. The singer from Restless Heart, and the singer from Little Texas, and Richie. They go out and sing their 30 top ten hits(collectively). Sometimes as just a trio, sometimes with a band. The guy who put Frontmen together promised him 1M/ year. Michael said that there's no way they can make that. I agree.

I agree. It looks like Frontmen are playing bars, small halls, and third tier casinos in the small room. If Richie gets a million, they will also have to pay the other two singers a million each -- then meet overhead and traveling costs. I'm sure he makes enough to be comfortable, but it's not in the millions.

It's probably equal to what he would be getting in Lonestar playing similar venues. Lonestar can probably play the bigger room on the casino circuit.

Those casino gigs are horrible. It's a corporate nightmare. There are a lot of comp tickets, half of the audience isn't really there for the band/artist. The show is plastic and sterile with no ambiance.

It's like -- pay me my money so I can run through a 75-minute set of my "hits", load of up the bus, and get out of this wasteland.

I agree with every word you wrote. I'd say the three singers are lucky if they make 5k a show, each.

It’s good. Very professional.

One of the unqualified joys of the original is how Christine belts that long note belieeeeeeeeeeve in the chorus—all from her chest voice. No falsetto.

I’ve never heard any other singer do it half as well.
