"Single" question

"Heavy Heart"/"No Way Out"
"Beasts of Burden"/Uganda Woman"

Are these four songs from Greeny's first two singles availible on any CD's? Maybe on a compilation CD, or as bonus tracks? I'd like to hear them, but the last time they popped up on ebay they sold for quite a bit.

dino 05-08-2005 12:12 PM

Hello Tom,
they're not available officially except for old singles copies.

They are available on bootlegs though, so maybe you can trade for the tracks?

It's a great shame that they're not available commercially. Should be reissued along
with an exapanded verion of "The end of the game". But they how many times have we said that... :distress:

bretonbanquet 05-09-2005 12:22 PM

Absolutely - they'd fit in well with The End Of The Game, which is a bit short anyway. Heavy Heart is the cheaper single generally, and the more common. In France it even got a picture sleeve :p Beasts of Burden is a bit rarer and often comes as a promo.

File under "Most Likely Redundant, But Just In Case You Didn't Know":

The PGSG covered the Nigel Watson penned tune, "Uganda Woman", on their Time Traders album.

On a similar theme:

Big Boy Now / Bandit

How rare is this single? Does anyone know in which countries it was released, or anything else about it? I have a German promo 45 but I've never seen any other copy anywhere

Redundant? Not to me. I'm still a new-ish Greeny fan. So while your info may be common knowledge to some, I appreciate you posting it.

Both songs are on the double CD "Man of The World" Peter Green Anthology.

I'll remember that  The picture at fmlegacy.com is actually my single! I sent them a scan and they put it on the site :p

It sounds like it might be one of my rarest records :blob2:

As Tom said, the songs themselves are quite easy to get, but the single is a different matter :D

Tom 05-11-2005 09:25 PM

Ohhhh, you were referring to the actual 45, as opposed to just the recording.
Since PG's Mac were not as big here in the US, this stuff is hard to come by here it seems. Everytime I see an interesting item on ebay it's coming from the UK.

Mrpeabody 05-11-2005 11:12 PM

Hello. New member here. Been a PG fan for many years.

How much in demand is the "Apostle"/"Tribal Dance" PVK single? I'm thinking this is the only place to get the acoustic version of "Apostle". I may have a copy to put up on Ebay.

Hello from Italy.

The acoustic version of "Apostole" is/was also available on the anthology "Blue Guitar"...........

Here you get a rare european sleeve of "Heavy Heart".

Mario.

bretonbanquet 05-13-2005 02:09 PM

That is a rare one :blob2: I was told it's French - is that true? I saw it on eBay but way too expensive :(

Hi Mario,

Haven't seen that anthology around. It's the one on Creole, right? Is it on CD?

Unfortunately, I do not have "Heavy Heart". I recently bought a near mint copy of "Beasts of Burden/Uganda Woman". No picture sleeves though.

The "Blue Guitar" anthology is still available on most of the internet shops.

My copy on cd is on Castle Communications (Germany)

Mario.
