PG Article in Record Collector
 

Record Collector magazine has a Peter Green article in the November issue 355 on sale now.

Don't have the article, but here's the blurb for it:

Oh nice, I buy this mag every month. Didnt know the new issue was out yet. I guess this is promotion for the boxset. I'm still annoyed that 'Heavy Heart' and more rarities weren't included. :distress: So good for the feature on Green but this magazine is all i'll be buying.

Great to know. I buy it sometimes. The November issue is not out here in Denmark yet though.

It is true that it probably is promotion for the boxset. Maybe it will cast a light on why they have chosen the music they have, and why they have chosen to put the numbers in that perculiar order - and - supposedly - with the help of Peter Green Himself!!?:confused:

Anyroad - it is great that PG is fit to do interviews at all (if it is an interview), since nobody seems to know anything about what has happened to him since 2003. That's really great! :woohoo:

Martin Celmins wrote it and the article :Dis based on interwievs he did with Peter during the summer.

It is intended to be a PLUG for the forthcoming boxet.

GREAT! FANTASTIC! At least Green and Celmins are still on talking terms. I was a bit worried, because Peter Moody - and not Martin Celmins had interviewed PG for the Duster Bennett biography. After all that has happened you don't know who is talking to who and after all Celmins is Peters biographer.

Yes, but I don't think this was a problem, after all Martin Celmins and Pete Moody are good friend and as far as I'm concerned, they worked together on the (great) biography of Duster Bennett.

Everything happening to PG always seem to come to a dramatic end and fade out in enigma. Since Martin Celmins were not just PG's biographer but also sometimes involved in the Splintergroup concerts, you never know what side he falls down on after the big dramatic split-up with lawsuits and all that jazz. And it would be such a shame if this had ruined this relationship as well. So this interview in Record Collector is good news, indeed. :nod:

The Duster Bennett bio is very good. I am re-reading it at the moment. There is so much information in it. I wonder whether there will be a definite work about british blues coming from Celmins sometime in the future. Somebody should write it. Christopher Hjort has - in his own original way - almost done it. Something along the lines of The Restless Generation by Pete Frame which is about british Popular Music in the fifties would be great.

Finally got hold of the Record Collector issue.
Most of the article is a rehash of what we already know,
but there is some interesting stuff on Greeny's early years
and tantalizing info about recent recordings
done with Spanish friends.
Also very many other good articles in this issue, an interview
with Dr John for example, don't hesitate to buy it!
