This week 1/22/1982

Lindsey Buckingham's Trouble hit its peak #9 on American Top 40.

Listening to the Big 80s countdown, this week back in 1982. Some great tunes

Stevie's Leather and Lace at #6

Mega Mega hits in the top 3

J Geils Band - Centerfold #3

Foreigner - Waiting for a girl like you #2 (still holds record of weeks a song at #2)

Olivia Newton John - Physical #1 (10 weeks at #1 - biggest song of the decade)

I was in 6th grade and listening to these songs brought back some memories. We had a talent show and several boys in my class wanted to sing Centerfold and a few girls wanted to sing Physical. Because of so many people wanting to sing the songs and the sexual nature of the songs, they were not allowed to be performed. BTW, the talent show was singing along to the record

I don't think I ever realized (or if I did, totally forgot) that Stevie and Lindsey were in the Top 10 at same time as solo acts. Of course she charted higher, but he made a very successful showing. (you know she gloated....although she had to have a famous duet partner (again) and he didn't)

Was this his only solo Top 10?

Yes his only top 10 as a solo artist.
I knew they were on the chart together but also forgot they were in the top 10 together for 1 week. Both could have charted higher but those 3 monster songs in the top 3 were not going anywhere. To think 2 of the biggest songs of the entire decade were both deadlocked at #1 and #2 for months on that same chart.
1982 just an incredible year. Started out early with solo stuff and then Mirage and big videos coming from the Mac. Bella Donna was still producing top 40 stuff when Mirage was in the wings. They were definitely busy.
