I'm not capable of joking or storytelling. Michelle insisted
a forced lobotomy on me. I don't even desire to argue with
obsessed Lindsey stalkers anymore.

I am a changed man. From now on, just the facts.

No one minded your Barry stories, but causing a lot of confusion and furor by starting a thread that says NBC.com reports that Fleetwood Mac has completed the first song from their new album was more of a prank than a "joke" or storytelling. The only humorous part of it was, I imagine, to see people get disappointed when they found out it was a gag. People can and do engage in such pranks on April Fools, but I wouldn't recommend it as a regular feature and told you so.

Michele

I have already took your recommendation as you can see by my response
to vivfox comment.

What you "imagined" is wrong. Without re-reading my own post of the
"new" or completed song, what was funny about it to me was that how
much (with a few pronoun changes) it read like a Stevie Nicks written
song.

I picked that particular Elvis song out of thin air. Unless it could be in
my subconscious mind (and with as much as I've listened to Elvis it could
be). So as I was writing it out, the more I wrote the funnier it was to me
at how it matched what Stevie would write herself. Even the time period
from which Stevie's best songs are from matched.

As with most of my old stories I usually included enough information that
anyone reading comprehensively would at very least pause and consider is
this "truth"?

Anyone that was "furious" at any of my stories, or anyone else's for that
matter needs help.

This was a simple explanation of the story you brought up. Not an
argument asking that the creative part of myself be restored to The Ledge.

As I said, from now on just the facts and a few comments now and again.

People make up FM lyrics all of the time, to the amusement of many, but they don't usually create misleading threads to do it in.

The people who were annoyed by your thread title: First song from New Album completed? NBC.com and the fact that you followed up with a fake scoop from last night's Carson Daly show had a valid complaint. They weren't in need of "help," mental or otherwise. When they clicked on expecting legitimate FM news and got one of your pranks instead, they were right to be irritated. There's no need to cast aspersions on others because your fake thread wasn't appreciated.

Your thread wasn't removed, I simply posted in it telling you to stop pranking people. That was a couple of years ago. You don't need to keep griping about it. You feel lobotomized -- or, at least, strait-jacketed. I get it. I got it years ago. Thanks for checking in with the Lindsey youtube information so that everyone could check out his interview.

Michele

I'm glad.

Now back to the interview. I've enjoyed all the interviews
so far from Dan. The Jack White and Vince Gill interviews
were my favorites. Vince's might bring a tear to your eye.

As much as I've enjoyed them, I can't help but imagine the
Dan Rather of the past would think such interviews were
beneath him.

I thought you might be joking but sure enough, there it was. And so I watched it.

Yea I took some time off from the boards as FM took theirs from the road.

Of course, I support Brian Williams and I want him back at NBC, despite the fabrications. I'm just saying that I think Dan Rather's reputation has suffered to an unwarranted extent and I did not support his being pushed out.

Michele

I want Brian back too! He made a few bad decisions and they threw him out. Second chance have been given to people who have done much worse.
