There I was sitting in my room, avoiding my homework, and watching lengthy video-taped discussions of Neil deGrasse Tyson, like the incredibly nerdy girl that I am, when I stumbled onto something absolutely brilliant. I had found a new TEDxTeen talk by Tavi Gevinson, called Still Figuring it Out, that put all that was important into perspective and called for her audience to take away an inspiring message for people of all ages.

Although on 15 years old, “Tavi Gevinson [is] the editor-in-chief and founder of RookieMag.com and writes thestylerookie.com. Rookie, a site for teenage girls, broke 1 million page views within 5 days of launching in September of 2011.

I love this so much.

This was great... so cool to see Stevie having this kind of influence on younger women after all these years....

(though I would quibble with the statement that Stevie was always totally present onstage... but drugs'll do that to ya.....)

Tavi is brilliant. I remember reading her blog back when she was twelve and realizing that we should all just give up; there are very few adults as thoughtful and original in their writing as she was as a tween.
So glad she's a Stevie girl.
