Why am I not surprised----I was amped about this channel! I could already see myself cruising down the street with this channel blaring from my car. I was so excited about what they'd play and who we'd hear from. When I emailed SiriusXM I suggested The Chain as the first song they play when the channel goes live. This was going to be freakin awesome.....
Will they play Mike and Neil stuff too as a way to familiarize listeners with the new members? Will they play Lindsey's songs sparingly? They might play older songs to prep listeners for the shows if they plan on doing older stuff live. Bet we don't hear any BuckVie |
I heard the tail end of a promo in the car on the way home from work. Don't Stop was playing in background and a voice said the channel number

Does anyone else find it interesting, and a little bit strange that the initial start date of the Sirius FM channel was dropped about a month ago with no explanation? And that now, the week that they do an interview as a “new” ensemble, and the story of Lindsey’s horrible firing is out, the channel is announced again?
Could it have had anything to do with contract negotiations with Sirius? And Lindsey? Or did they want to coincide it with their stupid tour announcement in the hopes that it will make the channel, and the tour, more popular? I, personally, will find it hard to listen to it. I’m so disappointed with “my band” and the bunch of idiots they have become. |

I got what I asked for! I suggested SiriusXM play The Chain for the first song on the FM channel and they did. The next song was Black Magic Woman from Live in Boston then Rhiannon.
When I heard the opening riff of The Chain I got goosebumps. I've been thinking about how cool this would be for so long. Even after the channel was delayed I still held onto the hope that it would start up eventually. Little did I know about Lindsey's situation back when I had this idea. Driving along, I was lost in the song then the vocals kicked in and it was like being jolted out of a deep sleep---disorienting and my body screaming NO....... |
Stevie said that the band has Mick who she called "their fearless leader" to thank for Tusk I've never been so confused in my life.

I listened to the first hour and was surprised at how much older Peter Green material they were playing. And a lot of Stevie. I heard Edge of Seventeen. And an interview with Neil Finn. I'm guessing they held off on the channel until they got the new ones hired and could promote the new mac on this with the interviews. Erase Lindsey I guess. Still bummed about him being gone. I can't wait till he opens up and tells us his version.

I heard a snippet of Neil Finn saying Mick played a little on a record he worked on with his son called Light Sleeper. Did You hear Chris's intro to YMLF? She explained her songs on Rumours were basically positive except for this song cause it wasn't positive for John. |
I've had the channel playing at work for the past 2.5 hours, and only heard 3 or 4 Stevie songs; I'd say there's been more pre-B/N music than anything so far.
I am loving the live stuff though, and "Skies the Limit" was a pleasant surprise! |

Playing the older stuff was part of my email to SiriusXM. My take was the station had a responsibility to inform the listeners not just entertain. Educate the listeners about the various eras of FM and so on. Your point about erasing Lindsey or at least minimizing him is a good one and makes sense on why the channel was delayed. Mystery solved I guess:shrug: |

I've been listening a little. They've been playing quite a few Lindsey songs. They're definitely not afraid to play them. They played a little clip of Mick speaking about Lindsey producing Say You Will. They have a whole month to fill, so I would imagine they will play Buckingham McVie, Buckingham Nicks as well, hopefully. I like it so far.

Yeah, 3 hours in and I'm really liking it. There's been a pretty even distribution of airplay - all eras, all singers/songwriters.

I don't think she would have let what's happened now with Lindsey happen had Tom not died and I don't think this 'decision' has really sunk in with her yet. She obviously knows it's happened and knows she had a big part in it, but I don't think she's fully grasped it. And that's why I 100% believe, with all my heart, that down the line, when she's made her peace, she's really going to feel a lot of deep remorse over this. Like someone else said. No matter how much you bicker, where exactly is the happiness in getting your bandmate of 40 years/musical partner of 50/ex-lover/person who once turned your world and kickstarted everything fired? Sure, now you can go on tour without getting into arguments with that person every other day, but do you actually feel good? There are people in my life with whom I have some issues, and who I don't ANYWHERE near the tremendous history that she has had with Lindsey, but if I ever let something similar to this happen with them I'd feel awfully guilty about it and I think Stevie will feel the same way soon enough. |
Christine has talked a lot about Lindsey bless her heart.
She's like the only one, it's as if Stevie and Mick can't say his name. And John never speaks anyways so. |

Every time I start thinking about what Stevie did to Lindsey and how he must be feeling, I start crying. And I'm not lying. I imagine myself in Lindsey's position and I'm sure he still can't believe it. But I don't know Stevie and how she's feeling and why she did what she did. I hope at some point she feels guilty but let me have my doubts until the tour starts. |

Yea why the fu** is neil Finn speaking so much. I get he’s in the band now but it’s been 3 weeks and he’s literally had nothing to do with anything involving this band. Not one real live performance or recording whatsoever. It really isn’t a big deal but I just find it very funny. Mick Stevie and Christine still talk more but neil Finn should not be heard more then John. And if John didn’t want to speak well then Neil should just be using this time to learn guitar parts and not an radio voice overs ! |

Me too. Every day I realize more and more that she had the FM Stevie show complete with her Tom Petty friends. GROSS

This is not anything like LBs desire to tour his solo work concurrently with FM |
They just played "Crash Into Me" from $tevie'$ soundstage.
I had to lower the sound it's so bad. She ruined a beautiful song. Yikes. |

I'm telling you guys, I honestly wish Stevie was the one that was fired here. The bashing is just nonstop. Yes I know there would be some if she were the one fired on the other end. But I really honestly don't think it'd be as much. Whatever floats your boat and get you through the day I guess. :distress: Jamie |

Furthermore, I've had 3 different posters mention to me that you have been trolling. They are entitled to their opinion, whether you like it or not. I've often read posts by you that incite even more heavy discussion. Thus, I guess that is what floats your boat. If you don't like it differing viewpoints on current events; you are allowed to stick with the $tevie forum. And wishing $tevie was fired isn't something I would wish for. I more wish $he and Mick would act like a decent human beings. But again, maybe that's something that floats your boat, too. I wouldn't wish anyone get fired. Well, maybe the Cleveland Browns head coach. But other than that... |
Some great songs Mick played today.

I saw this on your signature and thought, "I wish she'd tell her that NOW!!" Coz the confidence she displayed in that remark seemed woefully missing in recent interviews and events. |
Can't bring myself to listen. Won't do it.

Whoever those 3 complaints are need to take your very advice and if they can’t handle seeing different opinions other then “there’s no reason anyone could support this band and not have a moral compass” they can just not read the boards. And on Crash, I don’t enjoy that song in any form but considering how much I despise Dave Mathews, I consider a slight improvement. But yea, it is Terrible tone. |
