There seem to be a new re-release of Blue Memphis by Memphis Slim coming out the 9th of May, called "Blue Memphis Suite" on the Maison de Blues label.

This release lists two bonus tracks! :D

They are Mother Earth and I've Got Soul. So the big question is, are these songs unreleased tracks from the sessions or just two songs added to give more value for money...

You'll need to scroll down and open a new window. The cover has been changed as well. Is that the new trend? Records should be rereleased with their original covers I think! The Blue Horizon Sessions look awful in comparison with the beatiful originals...:mad:

I just bought this cd in france...
These 2 tracks are outtakes from these session, with Peter playing on both.
And they're great.
And there's also some more photos from the session + extended note from Chris Spedding.
A good reissue...

Thanks for the info on this reissue - that one would most likely have slipped under the radar for me - "Mother Earth" is a great song (and one that Memphis Slim has recorded a few times) really curious as to how Green handled the solo - the original was done by the underrated Matt "Guitar" Murphy

It's a pity that they changed the original sleeve, but I'm sure that 2 unreleased tracks with Greeny really makes up for that!

I've just bought this CD from a Canadian seller on eBay. It seems the CD is still availiable from this seller and is much cheaper than on Amazon.com (9.94$ plus S&H). Check it out :))) Last yaer I bought Blue Memphis, but two bonus tracks with Greeny are worth this price :)))

I agree - it's a very good edition, better than previous edition. I have "Blue Memphis" from 2005 so I can compare them:)))
This edition is especially worth to buy to hear I'Ve Got Soul (Bonus Track) There's a fantastic Peter's playing !!!!
