Danny Kirwan podcast

Hello!

I'm not sure if this is old news, but anyone who hasn't heard it should definitely check out this Danny Kirwan podcast I randomly stumbled across.

It's comprised entirely of rare and bootleg material from 1968-1972, some of which I've never seen anywhere else. It's got the 1971 BBC performance of "Dragonfly" and a clean version of "Like Crying" from Oslo 1969 without the voiceover that mars the You Tube version.

It's also got the "live in studio" recording of 'Tell me all the things you do' from the "Madison Blues" compilation, which apparently comes from a 10 Nov 1970 performance at the BBC. It may well be that the ambiguous "live in studio" recordings of 'Station Man' and 'Purple Dancer' from "Madison Blues" are outtakes from the same BBC session, as they seem to have the same BBC "rawness".

My guess is it'd be that version which is part of the B&W live footage on the "Early Years" DVD (that I'm Worried, World Keep On Turning (& on other sources, Rattlesnake Shake) is from) but let us know if it's different. :)

Nah, it's the same, from Oslo '68. At 42'20" you can hear Danny breaking the string which makes Peter do "World Keep On Turning" solo providing Danny to put a new string on his guitar.
;)

Maybe it doesn't matter much, but this TV cast in Oslo was shot in November -69 and not October -68. "Proof"? Rattlesnake Shake and Peter's beard ;)
And of course; Hjort's "Strange Brew"

Thanks Dogon. :xoxo:
Amazing I never questioned the date. Your info is so convincing (the beard and Rattlesnake). Danny joined in august 68, so it's hardly possible they already did these tracks in october.

Thanks ledgies, got the feelin' something was wrong, 68' uhh...
How about this "1969-03-23 Konserthuset, Sweden" then?
My guess is Münich (or e.g. Nürnburg) 1970-03-22/23/24 (guitars out of tuning, less tight playin' in between, songlist, wha-wha, etc.)?
problem,

Nice share. Always good to see others who appreciate DK's prodigious talent.
