not really a "rehearsal", but was recorded a year or so before tusk was released.

This is labelled Sisters Of The Moon (Mistake), and it must be from a rehearsal of some kind.. Couldn't say with certainty it's Mirage era, but I'm sure someone here will be able to clarify the context. The instrumentation sounds very similar to other Mirage era recordings.
When it gets to 'So we make our choices..' they stop and Stevie witters on for a minute or so, then it cuts off and they carry on from Lindsey's vocal part. She gets it wrong again but they carry on and play to the end.

Definitely from '82... thanks for sharing Sian! :D It's fascinating to hear how this song evolved into the monster it eventually became.

It isn't a "recorded" early version, it was a bootlegged concert performance. "Recorded" largely implies that it is a studio take. A simple word can turn the meaning into something it's not, and it gets very confusing!

I was gonna say it yesterday, but he's right. It's a bit of a teaser for a song featured on a future album, sort of how Pixar sometimes sticks easter eggs for future movies in their current movies (for example, towards the end of Monsters Inc., Boo starts handing Sully some of her toys, one of them being a stuffed clownfish, a hint for the next movie, Finding Nemo) and I even saw a vid of that from around that same time on YouTube

Does the fact that the next line says "Live in Baton Rouge" not clear that up?

Anyway, Thanks for sharing Liam. I LOVE this version :-)

The version on the "Mirage" concert is the rehearsal. The actual live version was too scary to be shown on video.
