According to the Celmins biography, Peter told John Mayall that he'd had an offer to join the Animals.
This was after Clapton left the Bluesbreakers for the second time, and Peter was trying to make Mayall sweat a little as to whether or not he ( Peter ) would return.
Based on this information, one could assume the Burdon and Green crossed paths back in the day.
