Actor who played Meep on 'American Horror Story' dies after being hit by car last week
Actor Ben Woolf, who gained fame as Meep on the television show “American Horror Story,” died Monday after being struck by a car in Hollywood last week. He was 34.

Woolf died of a stroke at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center about 3:20 p.m., said his publicist, Zack Teperman. The actor had been hospitalized in critical condition since Thursday, when he was struck by a car mirror while jaywalking near Hollywood Boulevard, police said.

I knew Ben ever since he was a kid growing up in Iowa. And even then, he had a great heart and thoughtful way of relating to people. He was very tuned in to people's feelings and could often spot the little things that most folks didn't notice. I think that's one reason Ben was...

Following his death, Woolf's family issued a statement: "We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all over the world for our beloved Ben. He touched so many hearts in his 34 years. His memory will live on within each of us and within his work."

Woolf, who was 4 foot 4, was diagnosed with pituitary dwarfism when he was young. He also worked as a preschool teacher in addition to working on the hit FX show.

The investigation into the collision that led to Woolf's death is ongoing. Police said Woolf was jaywalking. The driver stopped and was interviewed by officers, but no citations were issued.

Woolf was not married and did not have children. His dog, Lisa, will be adopted by his mother.

A memorial service is expected to take place in Santa Barbara in a few weeks, but no details are yet available.
