I have migraines so I too have had a few, the tranquilizer just helps you not be so nervous from the noise and the fact that the top of the machine is just inches from your face. I kept my eyes closed and listened to some Dave Mathews-So it wasn't that bad-
They should have given you more of a clue of what it was going to be like , so you were not as frightened....
