I quite like the song and the sentiment it expresses,whilst being saddened by the irony of it "I will stand by my band..."
I do think the outro is a tiny bit too long and there seems to be a bit of re-use of a motiff from
You and I Part II. John's bass is lovely and tasteful, as ever.
But where's Christine? I'm not going to invest in some super-deluxe headphones to see if I can make her out, deeply buried in the mix. I find it a little odd that LB didn't use her more on his songs, even if he thoughtthat they were in the can before her return...
For a duets album, there could have been a bit more duetting...
