Except for one area - Fleetwood Mac. He states he would go back in a shot. He mentions that the band could still carry on without Christine and it is all in Stevie's hands to move forward together. He makes no mention of having to go on without John, so at least in his mind, it appears John being part of the band is still viable.

I very much get the impression that he wants his legacy to be capped as not ex-Fleetwood Mac vocalist and guitarist, but Fleetwood Mac vocalist and guitarist, Lindsey Buckingham. It may seem like a small nuance, but for him it matters, as does the final Fleetwood Mac song ever played live by the band, includes him.
I agree with your assessment- this is an incredible interview and frankly, I’m really surprised no one has commented on it.

I think regarding his thoughts about reuniting with Fleetwood Mac, he’s completely fine with reuniting as long as the people who are able to WANT to do it; obviously, with Christine gone, she can’t, while in John’s case, he’s done. But Lindsey’s mindset seems to be, as long as Mick, Stevie, or he wants to do something together, then they have that right. And I agree. If they ask John to participate and he declines, then that’s his choice and they can still record or perform without him and there’s no reason to feel bad. Could I see Stevie perform with them again? Yes. Could I see her record with them? Never.
