The closest it's been to the earth since 1948. It was very bright outside here last night.
I heard an item on the radio yesterday. A man explaining how the Sun and Moon are important to us as they are constants, no matter what is going on here on earth
He pointed out that living here in the UK the moon is particularly important to him, as unfortunately we can't rely on seeing the sun
