[If I had a friend who knew Lindsey, I could get him to play on my next album. From an article about Delta Rae]

stars aligned two years ago when Delta Rae was working with producer Rob Cavallo.

“Rob was helping with our EP (2013’s 'Chasing Twisters') and he mentioned that he was friends with (Fleetwood Mac guitarist) Lindsey Buckingham. He just casually said, ‘Lindsey came over for dinner last night and he asked me what I was working on.’ Rob played what we were working on and Lindsey asked Rob, ‘Who are these kids,’ and he listened and bobbed his head to the music.”

Buckingham picked up his 12-string guitar and played along with the rough cuts of Delta Rae at Cavallo’s house. Cavallo asked if he could record Buckingham’s guitar part and the iconic singer-songwriter issued his approval.

“We couldn’t have been more excited,” Hopkins says. “Talk about incredible luck. We didn’t get to see Lindsey in a studio but he played on our song and that was just amazing.”
