Ah, well Emmerdale used to be filmed in a place called Esholt, which is part of the village I grew up in. It's not really anything like Haworth where the Bronte's are from and where I live now. Haworth is very high up in the hills and beyond the village is mostly moorland and woodland. Esholt is in a valley and is mostly farm land.
Since the mid-90's, it's been filmed on a purpose built set on the Harewood House estate in Leeds.
It's amazing to see that your anncestory is still a part of you. If you ever get the chance, you should visit. There's some beautiful places to see around here. If Christine McVie and (perhaps even more so) Agnetha Faltskog from ABBA can get over that fear, then I'm sure you can too
