I don't understand it....please help...
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
I put my one of a kind wild heart t-shirts on ebay. Two of them for 75 bucks. Now in the past, I have seen regular wild heart tshirts go for $50.00 EACH, and they are not even hoodies, they are just plain old WH shirts. Nor did Stevie have those plain old stock shirts (that people sell for $50) specially made for herself so she could prance around in them for a day just to aggravate someone (damn her for spilling a drop of coffee on one!), What am I doing wrong? Why hasn't somebody snatched them up? Are my photos that bad? Talk to me!

Hi. Well, I just looked at the shirts, and they are interesting! All I can say is that $75.00 is a lot of money for two t-shirts. In your description you say that you will tell the winning bidder the story behind them, but you may have wanted to include the story in your auction to increase interest. If it's a good story, I'm sure people would be more likely to invest that kind of money, especially if their names aren't Harry or Leo. You seem to suggest that Stevie perhaps wore one of these herself in your post here (the coffee spill). but you don't state that in your auction anywhere. If you had any photos of Stevie with the shirts, wearing them, holding them, or with their namesakes wearing them that would also help. I think people tend to be skeptical, especially when items are expensive that they are authentic and that would be helpful.
Then again, you have two days left, so maybe there will be a bidding war at the last minute? Good luck.

How are they different than the regular shirts? You said they are "one of a kind". Are they authentic?

They are different because the 'my wild heart' has been crossed off and replaced with Leo and Harry.

Well....its not like I can go to stevie and say "hey, put these on for me so I can sell them on eBay, oh right honey, you have doubled in size since that tour and they would never fit you, well then just hold them up and smile..." I know they are authentic because I know where I got them from. I just don't understand why someone would pay $50.00 for a plain old wild heart t-shirt and they won't pay $75.00 for two hoodies that are so unique. Sigh. I guess I just have to wait and see it they sell.

I just went and looked at them - I guess my reaction would be, huh? (Sorry) I just wouldn't shell out the money without knowing the story. I have no idea who Leo and Harry are, and I'm a big fan...

I started a thread on tour personnel in '83 on the Stevie board. Some of them used funny pseudonyms to check in to hotels.

I think the reason people would pay $50.00 for a plain shirt is because most people don't want to wear something that is personalized to someone else. It's similar to autographs. Autographs that are personalized to an individual are usualy worth less then just a plain signature by the celebrity.

its all about marketing...for instance you didnt provide a link here.
and if you dont give a smidge of the backstory...theres doubt...does someone want to pay the extra $25 for a potentially good story (that could escalate to a letdown) and a hood...probably not. |

Well, it is for TWO shirts not just one. That's what I don't understand. People will shell out $50.00 for one shirt but not $75.00 for two?
Oh well, maybe I am meant to keep them for another 20 years...lol... By the way here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Stevie-Nicks-Wil...QQcmdZViewItem

A: The starting bid is too high. B: People don't want personalized items that aren't personalized to them, unless there is a cool story behind it that they know prior to bidding. Reebok, It's still possible that people might try to get a low bid in, but if they don't sell think about starting the first bid much lower. I know it's scary to do that because you want to get what you feel they are worth, but trust me, if you start out low and get a few people competing over them, the price will go up. Also, tell some of the story. Like BTFLCHLD said, I don't think anyone is going to buy them just so they can hear the story, but they may buy them because they heard the story and it was a cool one.
