Twist of Fate POLL: Solo or Mac?
PREDICTIONS (as opposed to preferences): Will "Twist of Fate" appear on the solo album or the Mac album? Just thought it would be fun to see if we could guess correctly.
My guess: It will be on the solo album (though I wish it'd be on the Mac album). |

TOF solo. I think Deep Dense will be on the FM album.

Solo
Lindsey needs a hit and out of all the songs I have heard from GOS...this is it. Anyway, Lindsey has said that the songs on the new CD have John and Mick playing on them, so I am hoping this is one of them. |

You didn't include the long-completed LB/Sarah McLachlan duet as an option.
I'm sure it will be on the Mac release (which I'm not sure will be a full album), in its GOS form, but with Stevie's vocals placed on top of where Sarah's were. |

It will probably be more suited for a solo album.
As much as I love Lindsey and hope that someday his solo music will be loved by the masses, I must say I am completely torn over which album I want to see it on. Put it on a Fleetwood Mac album and it is more likely to receive the exposure it deserves (after all it's a fantastic song), however, put it on a solo album, and it will probably, sadly, not be heard by as much people as would be on an FM album. But if it is put on the solo album, please god the world will get to hear it. |

So, I recently got my friend really into Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey. She took to Lindsey's solo stuff WAY better than I was expecting her too, which led to me sending her essentially the motherload of stuff. As she was listening to "Twist of Fate" today, she said to me "I love Twist of Fate because it's so much like Second Hand News!" And I said, "what? what are you talking about?" and she said "the beat! I can practically sing one over the other!" And she mentioned the singing of syllables all ("bow bow bow bow" vs. "ba ba ba ba").
Is this a common perception? I really never noticed it before, but once she mentioned it, I could at least see where she was coming from. Do a lot of people think there is an obvious similarity there? |

I wouldn't hear it myself too strongly but there are similarities. I believe ChiliD thinks of TOF as SHN 2. I don't think they're close enough dismiss TOF as being a complete rip-off.

The answer is simple: it will be on both albums.

I still prefer the one on The Dance. There's more emotion behind it and his vocals are superb, imo. |
