Default Concord Review

I don't have much to say about Concord but here it goes. The first three rows were issued armbands and were allowed to move up to the stage which was cool for me since I had second row. There were a few more dedications tonight. Stevie dedicated Landslide to Fritz since one of the previous band members was there. I saw Bob Aguirre before the concert so that's who it must have been. Lindsey made a Say Goodbye dedication again but this time it was to his brother, Jeff, who was there. He said that the Bay Area is special to him because he has a lot of family here and a lot of people came to the show tonight. Stevie made a Beautiful Child dedication too to Vanessa Carlton (I'm assuming the singer) and said that she thinks she's great. Whatever.
That was all that was really different. On another note, Lindsey was really getting into his Stand Back dance and was shaking his bootie and thrusting his hips big time. I hadn't really noticed that the two previous shows so it was definitely a treat. Stevie also shook/touched quite a few hands at the end including mine.

Default Con Cord (as Stevie pronounces it)

I thought that dedication was strange. I guess Stevie met Vanessa Carlton backstage before the show or something and made an impression on her.

The set was typical, not too many surprises. But I really enjoyed the new key arrangement for Say You Will. Stevie is clearly more comfortable in that key. What a difference! Glad someone made that suggestion.

Very good show overall. Great crowd energy. Everyone in the pit and first two levels was up and dancing most of the time. But I could not stand Mick's drum solo. Utter rubbish. It needs to be cut from the set pronto.

Daniel - so it's now a lower key for SYW?

I think the verses were sung in a much higher key. On the last leg of the tour, the song was very flat and it was hard to hear Stevie over the music. But this was not the case last night. I think the same should be done for "Goodbye Baby," another flat one.

Stevie apparently sang on one of her new songs, so the dedication isn't so random after all. From Teen People:

Quote:
"And now, as the 23 year old delivers her heartfelt Harmonium (with guest
drumming from Pharell Williams and backup vocals from rock legend Stevie
Nicks), the cult of Vanessa Carlton grows stronger."

Vanessa has expressed in a few interviews that she's a big fan of Stevie's.

Wasn't there also a rumour going around that Lindsey was playing on Vanessa's new album?

EDIT: I wonder if it's the same song that Stevie contributed vocals for?
