Talking a gaggle of Fleetwood Mac CDs on ebay!!

More shameless promotion guys. Here is the last of my Fleetwood Mac CDs going up. There is a really good offering here of the 1975-2003 era of the band. You'd be hard pressed to find all of these again, as I've collected them over an 8 year period.

TO EBAY WITH YOU!

yeah $11 is not the shipping! It should be more like $7 or $8 with the weight of them and the box.

At any rate, yes they are "boots" but they are copyrighted by Mainstream and the various other distribution groups that put them out. Most all of them were imported. The rare ones are the STAGE from 1977, the Mirage LA Forum show from 1982 and the Shine Angel show from St Louis in 1979.

I was teasing before.... they do look pretty impressive with all the artwork! But how on earth can someone copyright boots? Surely only the artists are able to copyright their stuff?

Oh come on. You can't be that naive... The only party that can copyright those shows is Fleetwood Mac. Do you honestly think either 1) Fleetwood Mac is allowing this tiny 'distribution group' to copyright their performance or 2) anything's to stop me from (set by this standard) coming up with some some fancy packaging and copyrighting my own shows? I'm sorry if I sound harsh but just because something is a so called import doesn't mean the laws don't apply worldwide. You probably thought that 'Japan Import' of Buckingham Nicks was more than just a cheap vinyl dub with a little artwork and shrinkwrap.

Hey I dont know the ins and outs of copyrighting stuff. I bought most of these CDs on ebay over the last 10 years. Evidently they can get away with selling them in other countries. Being that I'm not distributing these discs on a regular fashion, this is a one time sell after all, I dont feel bad about it. I figure at least they are going to another fellow-fan.

no, they're not. a fellow-fan would:
A) know that those are only boots with fancy artwork
B) never pay for something that one can trade for or download

i brought my vinyl to the borgata in the hopes that i could get liddy to sign. the guy behind me asked where i got it and then offered to sell me a rare import cd. i laughed at him. sad.

i have photoshop. if i wanted jazzy artwork for my boots and demos, i'll make it myself.

i hope your auction goes well.

I've seen these 'cds' in stores before. Esp the "Connecticut Turning" disc.

Wink

Yeah, none of the artwork is "computer inkjet printed". Whoever made these, made them like you make a factory CD. And besides, I dont see why anyone would buy 20 Fleetwood Mac CDs if they WERENT a fan. So eat it.

What is the big deal people? I purchased a bunch of Fleetwood Mac bootlegs at genuine CD stores when I was in New York. They looked official with the fancy artwork and liner notes, but I knew they were boots. I wanted one so I purchased it. Who is it really hurting? I buy any and all official releases so it is certainly not cheating the band out of money.

It's no big deal to me. I was just curious how they could be 'copywrited' by someone other than the band.

It's a bummer for fans who don't know what this stuff really is, or that it's free from other sources.
