I think You and I part 1 shouldve been on TITN instead of part 2. A much better song in my opinion.

To me, it sounds like "Safe Harbour" with lyrics. It really has a "Bob Welch" feel to it.

I agree that Everywhere and IIM are superior, but Mystified is just a nice, soft spot on the album.

Funny but I have always preferred Mystified over Everywhere and Little Lies. It's mellow, and Christine sounds awfully sweet and sexy on her vocal. Mystified and Isn't It Midnight are my 2 favorite Christine songs on TITN.

I enjoy "Mystified" as a mellow, sweet song. I liked all the LB/CM collaborations on TITN.

I like it these days. Used to, I usually skipped it.

Of course, the sonic signature in "Mystified" is its being built largely on the pentatonic scale.

It's that employment of the pentatonic & other exotic scales -- found also in "Little Lies," "Seven Wonders," "Caroline," "Tango in the Night" & "When I See You Again" -- that creates such active musical integration throughout the album, linking motifs, tracks & themes into a unified whole. This integration is, to me, largely the foundation of the success of "Tango."
