Question How did you make out at the stores?

This was my best year yet.

I got...

-a pair of leather pants for $23. Not my favorite color, but I loved the look of them.
-A Panasonic (I think) surround sound system for $80.
-A sandwich maker for $2.50.
-One of those Febreze Scent Stories things for $15. I'll probably give it away for Christmas.
-Tons of DVDs:
  • David Bowie- A Reality Tour- $8
  • The Day After Tomorrow- $6
  • The Simpsons, Seasons 1 and 4 (more gifts)- $13 each
  • Three of those cheap Warner Brothers DVDs for $7 total
  • The Cell- $3
  • The Clearing- $9
  • Both Stepford Wives (old and new)- $11 for both
  • Green Acres, Season 1- $9
-Car seat cover for $1.50.
-DVD Recorder/Player for $71
-Three scarves for $3 each.

The only problem I ran into was Circuit City, they were evil. It explictly says that they will match any price and lop off an extra 10%. When I tried to price match, they told me they weren't doing it that morning BECAUSE IT WAS TOO BUSY. I was ready to explode, so I walked off to look aorund some more, but then I went to the service desk and berated all three of the asses that were working. The guy behind me said "You've got it. Make a scene and they'll price match just to shut you up." The manager came out and said it was her fault because she informed the staff that they wouldn't be price matching, but they will now. I told her that she had a nice bait-and-switch operation going and then asked if it was company policy or just this particular store's. I ended up getting all the stuff discounted (she even took my AC MOORE and MICHAEL'S coupons for 50% off single items and gave me 15% extra instead of 10%!) but the website they want you to visit to inform them of your experience will certainly be hit by my computer tonight.

I'm beginning to think they could make a whole (and very successful) reality show about you....that sounded very entertaining

I - *don't hit me* ended up at a Wal-Mart near where I work at around 2pm - it wasn't crowded and I really really wanted You've Got Mail - so I got it for $3.88 and I threw in Dave for the same price cause I"ve never seen it but LOVE Kevin Kline...

So yeah - I didn't do a whole lot of shopping - don't have the energy or $$

Dave is one of the Warner movies I got (along with Goldie Hawn's Swing Shift and Al Pacino's Dog Day Afternoon)! You'll love it. It's a throwback to the old Hollywood romantic comedies.

It blew chunks. He was great, though, as were Ashley Judd and Sheryl Crow.

I'm having an allergy attack, so I feel pretty crummy. A friend and I did venture out this morning for a couple of hours. I got an old fashioned popcorn popper and an indoor water fountain thingie (great description, I know ) for two of the people on my list. I also picked up my Christmas cards and some wrapping supplies, etc.

By the way, dissention, I think you do your share of helping out the economy.

Oh, I got a popcorn popper from Linen and Things, too! For $8!

The way I shop, profits dip into the red when I enter stores.

That's the same popper I got, although mine was for $9.

I have $55 dollars for Best Buy from when i got my computer. I am in awe of what i want from that store. I was saving it to get the counter top dishwasher which i imagined would make my life so much better, (cleaner) judging from how often i don't want to do my dishes. But i decided to see if they had a battery recharger thingy, as i could save a ton of money from not buying batteries, i realized! so that's gonna be about the extent of my shopping. if i have money left over, i may get Gwen's solo album, or...a DVD....yep, everything for myself, no Xmas shopping for me! f**ck em! I'm the only child here!

I had a 10% coupon, that's why I got it for under nine bucks. Most of the time, they don't even check the coupons before scanning them in. It was a 10% coupon off of a twenty dollar purchase.

I was thinking there's no way in hell Massachusetts is cheaper than Kentucky.

I didn't hit the sales this morning and judging from the looks of Walmart's main aisle, no one else did either. Usually their piles are down to your knees by the time the afternoon hits, but I saw so many computers and DVD players... I've never seen that many before on black Friday. But we did snag a new light fixture for the kitchen and a bed for my dog... I've never seen him so happy and calm before. At 14 years old he has a right to be lazy... at least he can be a little more comfortable now.

My grandmother called yesterday and she said she wanted a CD of some piano pieces for Christmas, so I'm trying to figure out what music toys I need to get that done so I can order them tonight.
