Smashing Pumpkins influence?

We all know that Billy Corgan and (mostly former) pals are fans of post-1974 Mac, but does anyone know if any of the Pumpkins were familiar with Fleetwood Mac's earlier work?

I've been listening to Bare Trees this evening, and man, the opening to "Dust" would sound just perfect on Siamese Dream.

I don't know. But a thread isn't a thread here on the ledge unless it's hijacked, so ... did you know that Elvis Costello thought Peter Green was most cool?

Yes, duh. He performed "Love That Burns" a number of times in 2004/2005, and he lists Greatest Hits as one his favorite several hundred albums in a Vanity Fair article from 2000. I believe he's also on record saying that "Man of the World" was one of the very first songs he learned on the guitar.
