Default Happy Birthday John Mayall

Happy Birthday John Mayall -
Forever underrated, little appreciated, Mayall just keeps going, year after year, album after album, with little concern for trends or popular opinion.
One of the last from the first wave of British Blues artists, (Chris Barber, Cyril Davies, Alexis Korner, Graham Bond, are all gone now) Mayall is another who should think about finding the time to write or even dictate his memoirs.
The stories that man could tell!

And, the guy just doesn't seem to age! He's now in his early/mid '70's and he looks like he's about 45 or 50.

His 2-disc 70th Birthday Concert set is fantastic. Bluesbreaker alumni Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor and the aforementioned Chris Barber all appear on several tracks each.

Yes indeed! A very happy birthday to Mr. Mayall. I remember seeing him perform opening for Peter Green on his 2002 U.S tour.

Isnt it nice to see some of these older Rock 'N' Rollers out there still kicking ass?

I regard myself lucky having seen him perform in Holland twice. Once in the Mick Taylor line-up (amazing performance of Sweet Little Angel!!) and then a year later with Jon Mark & Johnny Almond.
Precious memories

I've been really lucky to have seen John NUMEROUS times. The first time I saw him was in 1978/79 (can't remember which) at a VERY small (yet locally famous) club in Huntington Beach called "The Golden Bear". He had Harvey Mandel (from Canned Heat) on guitar in those days...his opening act at that show was...get this...The Rick Vito Band.

I'd read his book! Hope he has many more healthy years to come. He does look really fantastic, i have to say; he is so fit.
