Smile The Grammys

No wonder it takes three hours & they have to present some awards off camera:

http://www.grammy.com/nominees

I could not believe how many categories they have. I'll probably watch about half before I fall asleep. Some artists I like have been nominated like Maroon 5, Kings of Leon, Joss Stone, The Black Keys (which I've just started getting into their music since I saw them on SNL), & even Tom Petty was nominated for something.

So I'll be watching somewhat. Anyone else?

Maybe you'll watch just to see what Gaga is wearing?

I haven't watched the Grammy's since 2007. If Stevie isn't there, Viv ain't interested.

I'll definitely be watching with a bowl of popcorn in my lap.

No reason to watch, 2010 was a fail year in music.

In the world of corporate radio, yes, I'd agree.

Off the radio? 2010 was a great year for music!

Music these days is like...Taco Bell or Wendy's. No matter what you order, it's the same old **** rearranged to make something different. No matter where you go or who makes it, it all tastes the same. If you only eat fast food, eventually it will seem as though all food is garbage.

Then one day you find a restaurant that serves delicious hand-made food from local ingredients, with bright colors and interesting flavor combinations - and then you realize there is a whole world of interesting things to eat if you just look around for it.

Music is the same way.

Maybe I'm just comparing it to 2009, but last year I only bought 1 album. In 2009 however I bought tons and tons because everyone was making new music.

Esperanza Spalding (up for Best New Artist) came an performed for my choir at school last year... so weird that she was sitting in my choir room a few feet away from us, and now she's up for a grammy.

I hope Florence and the Machine win Best New Artist. If Justin Bieber wins, just ugh.

I will definitely be watching out of boredom and also, I DO want to see what Gaga is wearing Also Eminem will be there and he's my home dog.

In my opinion these should be the winners:

Best New Album: Recovery (Em)
Best New Artist: Florence + the Machine
Best Pop Vocal Performance: Just The Way You Are (Bruno)
Best Hard Rock Performance: Let Me Hear You Scream (Ozzy)
Best Rock Album: Mojo (Tom)
Best Rap Solo Performance: Over or Not Afraid

And I don't really give a poop about the rest of them.

Are the grammys tonight? I haven't really been paying attention this year, unlike last year, when we were all anticipating what ended up being The Worst Duet Of All Time Ever™

All I want to know is what GaGa is wearing. I wonder if she can top that meat dress

I don't know what you personally consider topping the meat dress but she came in in an egg.
