![]() Check this! They've put out a teaser for the upcoming Peter Green documentary on YouTube!
It's supposed to be a 90 min TV show and a 2 hour DVD. It seems great with all the interviews. Jeremy, Clifford Davis (I finally got to see that guy!), Mick (must be hot, look under his arm! ![]() And Peter certainly deserves this sort of documentary "tribute"!!! BUT: When it comes to archive material, we've seem those old clips 1000 times! If they haven't managed to dig up anything more than that, then they've not done a very good job! I was really hoping for more than cut'n'paste from the "Fleetwood Mac Early Years" DVD! ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5FMm6TtR9M |

![]() Yes, thanks Daniel!
This looks promising... The BB King quote was astonishing. Hopefully this doesn't just focus on his Mac era. |

![]() Thanks for all the posts, folks!
![]() Yeah! I wonder howcome that one never got out until now. It was a far greater compliment that that one about "the only guitarist who's ever made me sweat!" I'm really looking forward to hear Clifford speak. I know he was "the big bad manager" and so on. But somehow I think the guy was pretty cool! (sorry folks.) I mean, that story with the Fake Mac ... it's just too insane.. I can't help laughing. Although it created a lot of **** for the already struggling Fleetwood Mac. Still, he and Peter were good mates, and Clifford understood and accepted Peter's problems with fame and wanting to give money away. Quote:

I have gotten myself in over my head before, but then you never know till you try. I too am interested in hearing Clifford. I still have not met anyone who actually saw the fake guys. I also dont know why that quote from BB King had not surfaced before. BBs prologe on the Martin Cs book was rather benign. Of interest is Mayalls quote of being "without peer" in the late 60s. I still remember Mayall referring to Eric Clapton in the "Through the years" when talking about Green Clapton and Taylor, whose better and he replies that one was going to knock EC while (mayall) was around. incidently on the 15th of april Mayall is playing at "The Town Crier" in upstate NY crazy italian |

1. No interview (attempt?) with Danny Kirwan; 2. Too much already known material, cut'n'paste, as you mentioned. As for the material, the Den Haag (The Hague) show was on Dutch TV in 1969, in color! Part of that show is on Roughage 69. Sadly, the material has been destroyed. Surely there must have been other shows in other countries. Is there really nothing to be found????? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Thanks for spotting this, Daniel!
The documentary makers may have attempted to interview Danny Kirwan, but I have no idea what shape he's in these days - it may just not have been workable. It would be a shame if there's not some older video footage in the documentary that we haven't seen before, but it seems like most of the attention has been given to the interviews (judging from the YouTube trailer, anyway). I think you're right, Wouter, there just has to be more old footage someplace, but who knows if anyone will be able to locate it (or even try). |

![]() Well we can't judge anything by these few clips other than there will be a lot of interviewing going on because they already have it and dont have to fight for release rights.. I will just be happy to see footage of peter talking. I find the guy just facinating...not just because i am a fan. I hope some early stuff comes out. maybe they found his ex. I know my ex has a lot of my stuff (comic releif)
thanks for the post any idea when it is going to be released? i can''t wait. in any event doodyhead |

![]() ...personally,
I'm tired of the horse****. If Peter never plays again, so be it...... I won't idolize his efforts or achievements. In my opinion, that's why he's gone underground. I want to hear what's relevant to him now and I won't compare it to past works or try to figure out where he's headed next. If he graces us with any future recorded tracks we're lucky. The end. |

I do not idolize Peter Green. I think I i am just so captivated by what he has done over his career "whatever that is" that I just keep wanting to hear everything he has done or is doing. I dont know why. I wish I could play music with him. When I was in bands in my youth I wanted to play the kinds of stuff he played. I was in blues bands but never found people to play with that had a real passion for music. I have seen BB King maybe 20 times over five decades, I saw Freddy King in 68, 70, and 71. Buddy Guy in the early 70s when he and Junior Wells were the hottest thing around. These guys had passion. Thats what peter has. Whats wrong with being close to the fire? I wish him well in whatever he does. I dont like hangers on or fans anymore than anyone else. Why the hell does anyone post to this website if they were not interesed in him. He is not God. neither am I. |
