Default Mississippi Finally Makes Headway In Asbestos Litigation

Since I'm in asbestos defense, I thought this article was interesting. MS is tired of being the dumping grounds of asbestos claims.

*NOTE* I'm in no way inferring that serious, legit claims are not litigated.

Mississippi Justice Overturns Judge's Order in Asbestos Injury Lawsuit
AP reports that Mississippi Supreme Court Justice, George C. Carlson Jr, has ordered plaintiffs in an asbestos injury lawsuit to justify why their cases should be heard in Jones County, Mississippi. This overturns an order by Circuit Judge Billy Joe Landrum where by 115 plaintiffs would be grouped together.

Carlson said the plaintiffs must provide the defendants with information on who each plaintiff sued and why. That information should also include when the plaintiff was exposed and the work site where the exposure occurred.

We were paying some claims then, but is was for concrete cases of certain types of lung lesions most of which were cancer. I worked for a firm called Adams and Reese.

I work with Adams and Reese all the time. Claims managment is so complex. I deal with the actual litigation and over see some settlement issues as well, dealing with the insurance carriers and 3rd party resolution companies...i.e., pain in the ass.

Her legal analysis is not that bad, it is her asinine other stuff. I mean this whole the Legislature should pass it is crap and this country has never run that way ever since Marbury v. Madison and she knows that. Moreover, she picks and chooses when to apply strict interpretaion of the Const. in that the Second Amend. does not give individual US citizens the right to carry any kind of gun they want - it gives that right within a well organized militia. yet, sentence structure flies out the door with that one Also, she did not mind the judically created EP and DP arguments getting W in the White House. So, she is a hypocrite.
