Off topic:
Being that I am of Cherokee heritage, My ancestor's fought in the Confederacy against the Union for one thing, And one thing only (Cherokee's did not believe in slavery nor did they take slaves):
To regain the lands the Union stoled away. If the tribes who were forced from their lands to the "Indian Territory" (Now known as Oklahoma) helped the Confederacy, The Conferedracy would remember this by giving back the tribal lands the Union stoled. (Trust me, Oklahoma history is largely based on the outcome of the battle of Honey Springs (aka Rentiesville) which had repercussions when Pres.Andrew Johnson decided to payback "Those betraying redskins" by decimating the tribes involved.)

Well yeah, the confederacy were by no means the bad guys in that war. James Longstreet didn't even support slavery one bit, and after the war became a republican (they were the liberals then) the Confederates only fought to form their own country and while I'm glad the Union won and kept our country together, the Confederates were not the bad guys.
