Bob Dylan
Has Peter ever spoken about Bob Dylan? Or the other way around (more unlikely, I guess), has Bob ever talked about Peter?
I am a big fan of Bob Dylan too, and I think that he, alongside Peter, is among the very few white people who really understands the blues. I know it's a cliche, but still... I don't think they've ever met, or...?? In the early 90s Bob released two acoustic albums ("Good As I Been To You" and "World Gone Wrong") with old blues (and folk) songs. And his 1997 album "Time Out Of Mind" includes songs like "Dirt Road Blues" and "Million Miles", which really brings me back to the Robert Johnson pre-war blues era. Then there is his last album "Love And Theft" with the song "High Water (For Charley Patton)" and ... well, the whole CD actually!! I wonder if Peter ever listens to Bob and what he thinks of his music.. By the way, I think it would have been great for Peter to do a Charley Patton cover! Daniel |
