Read Way Back - Happy B'day T-Bone Walker
Respects should be paid to T-Bone Walker, born on this day in 1910.
One of the earliest proponents of electric guitar, he was a profound influence on countless musicians over the ensuing decades, most notably in terms of this forum, B. B. King - who in turn was a tremendous inspiration for Green Walker also composed such blues "standards" as Call It Stormy Monday (But Tuesday Is Just as Bad)" and "Mean Old World" both covered by Fleetwood Mac. On record, he specialized in smoky after hours blues, and on the more up-beat numbers, an almost jazzy swing style, as a live performer he was known for his theatrics, including leg splits, and playing behind his head (Chuck Berry borrowed Walker's clean, fluid riffs and sense of showmanship and married that to country to help create "rock 'n roll"). Happy Birthday T-Bone - your music will never die
