David 'Honeyboy' Edwards (96) passed away
David 'Honeyboy' Edwards was born June 28, 1915 in Shaw, Mississippi, and passed away on August 29, 2011 at his home in Chicago, Illnois. Honeyboy was one of the last living links to Robert Johnson, and one of the last original acoustic Delta blues players.
He can be heard on 'Fleetwood Mac in Chicago' (a.k.a. 'Blues jam at Chess'), where he played guitar on 8 tracks and sang on 2 of them. GJK |

Also, one of the few Delta blues players who embraced the switch to electric guitar (not many others beside Muddy & him)
Another Fleetwood Mac link: He's also on the Peter Green Splinter Group's Hot Foot Powder album, as well.

Other contemporaries of Edward's who made the move from acoustic to electric were the great Johnny Shines and Robert "Jr." Lockwood -
then there was Big Joe Williams (Baby, Please Don't Go) - he not only "embraced" amplification, he made his own Nine-String Guitar!
