John Peel show broadcast uploads - a missed opportunity?
Don't know whether any of you have heard about this, but I read an article the other day mentioning that hundreds of John Peel show broadcasts dating back to 1967 were briefly uploaded to the web in September, but they were then removed within a couple of days due to claims of copyright violation.
Some info about this on the following pages: http://www.factmag.com/2012/09/11/45...it-soundcloud/ http://www.strictlyhardlyvinyl.com/2...then-gone.html http://www.list.co.uk/article/45310-...-and-download/ http://www.sevenstreets.com/music-an...hive-download/ I'm sure there was some amazing stuff, perhaps including some early Fleetwood Mac BBC tracks that have never seen the light of day since those original broadcasts. At least there's hope that these might turn up again somewhere in the future. |

Well, what happened with Fleetwood saying there was going to be a volume two of BBC? I sure would love some of those songs like You Need Love.
