FYI: Linda Ronstadt and Carly Simon are writing their memoirs.
I think these ladies are a little older than Stevie, but they are writing their memoirs. I'll probably buy these on my Nook. I think that Stevie will be writing her memoirs in about 5 years. There are going to be a lot female rockers memoirs out there.

I'm a bigger fan of Linda than Carly but like them both and look forward to reading their memoirs.Linda should have alot of interesting stories in particular about the music business since her career spanned so many eras and genres and Carly had all the drama with JT.Stevie really needs to get to work on hers.

I'm so excited! Anyone know the release dates? I'm also a bigger fan of Linda's than Carly's, but they're both great. I read that Carly was not happy with her biography as written by Stephen Davis, so it will be nice to have her version of events.

I heard about these a while ago. I'm a big fan of Linda's and love Carly too so I'm really looking forward to reading both of them. Linda had such a fantastic career but is so fiercely private that little is really known so I can't wait!

YAY! I just finished Carol King's autobiography and like it a lot. Will add these two to my Kindle when they come out. Currently reading Eric Clapton's and have read, Nikki Sixx, Keith Richards, Pamela Des Barres and Leon Hendrix. I enjoy this genre and always open to suggestions. Thanks for sharing!

I"m a bigger fan of Carly's because she is a writer, but I"m more interested in reading Linda's biography. She was intensely private. She was doing a lot of stuff Stevie was doing though. I bet its a good bio.

^That one's on my shelf just waiting to be read.
Along with many others. I really like both Ronstadt and Simon, so I'll be picking up both. Carly didn't seem very pleased with the recent More Room In A Broken Heart: The Adventures Of Carly Simon. Also on the list: Shawn Colvin's Diamond In The Rough, A Memoir. |

Someone who only had one hit song is writing a memoir?

Indeed, and I'm going to buy it.
If you want to wait until Taylor Swift writes one I'll understand considering your criteria. |

It does boggle the mind, doesn't it? It has to be some sort of vanity pressing; I suspect people are not exactly clamoring for her story.
I am also interested in the enigma of Linda Ronstadt's private story... but I know so little about her life that I'm not so certain there will be anything particularly revelatory. By all appearances, she was the squeaky clean doe-eyed girl with a powerful set of lungs and a bucket list of musical genres to tackle. Oh, and she occasionally f***ed the governor of California. But that's about it... But I am most interested in Carly's autobio. Yeah, she and JT were married and divorced, blah blah blah. I am most curious about the little anecdotes she *may* include about her storied childhood in the world of Simon and Schuster- all the incredible people she met, etc. She has also hinted at some torrid affairs with very important men (and women?) in the past... I suspect there will be at least one major bombshell in the book. |

I don't think Stevie will ever write a book. She's such a fan of mystery. She won't reveal anything she and the press haven't already.

Here's my summary of some bio's I read: (and I read auto bios and bios of people I like, so all the names below, I am big fans of, not all are music related, but were fun)
1. Linda Ronstadt- boring, just a recap of her career with no romance or interesting events. 2. Nikki Sixx- very good 3. Don Felder- excellent 4. Andre Agassi- excellent 5. Joey Kramer- very good 6. Jann Arden- excellent and very funny. 7. Eric Clapton- the most boring bio ever. 8. Randy Backman- not bad, a little full of himself. 9. Robert Plant- interesting 10. Mick Jagger- interesting 11. Keith Richards- excellent, but a bit confusing a times, excellent recipe for banger and mash. 12. Gregg Allman- interesting and I learned quite a bit about the Allman Bros., I didn't know much about them. 13. Carlos Santana- ok, a bit boring 14. Pete Townsend- excellent, a bit sad in places, but excellent. 15. David Bowie- not bad 16. Alan Doyle- excellent 17. Billy Ray Cyrus- excellent 18. Kenny Rogers- pretty good 19. Melissa Gilbert- excellent, the funniest list of potential names for the book, all submitted by her friends was at the end, I loved it. 20. Rod Steward- excellent and sooooo funny. I was a so so fan of his, but after readinng this, I want sooooooo badly to hang out with him. He was priceless. 21. Ricky Martin- quite good. 22. Carol King- really good. and of course Carol Ann Harris and Mick x 2. |
