This one is a hard no for me. It's a missed opportunity for the latest lineup to put something, anything out.

Great little quote from a commenter on that website:

I like that this collection is more organized than "25 Years - The Chain". The tracks on this new set are in chronological order, and it'll be nice to hear the progression of the band.

I'd have liked to see more of the material from the 1971-74 period here, though I'm happy to have "Emerald Eyes" included. Also would have liked more from Behind The Mask and Time, though if there could only be one song from the latter, "I Do" represents it well.

I'm very happy to see "Fireflies" here, though the live version of "Never Going Back Again", is sure to be skipped by me. I'll check out "Sad Angel", as I've never heard it before.

All and all good picks for a 3D set. There is just too much great material in 50 years to put on 3 discs.

I do find it interesting that their 50 year retrospective is named for a song that is so clearly defined by the Rumours 5 lineup and we can argue, from the most definitive album this group has released. Given how they are a new band, and all that. It's curious that they not try for a little more "neutrality" or something that would have encompassed all iterations of FM

Basically, it’s just the singles.

The only changes I’d make:

Emerald Eyes -> For Your Love (single) or Miles Away (better song, not a cover)
Monday Morning -> I’m So Afraid
NGBA -> IKINW

And, I’d drop all of the above for new material.

A few years ago, my CD collection of around 30 years was stolen. The cost for a replacement of "25 years The chain" 4 disc boxset is SO expensive for even a used set as it's no longer in print.
I subscribe to Google Play, and the new "Don't Stop, 50 years" release is available to stream and download. It's the closest thing to the old boxset, so I at least have it on my Google Play account now. Hopefully, one of these days, I'll find the "25 years" boxset on CD through eBay for a decent price.

Here in The Netherlands, you can buy the 4 CD box set '25 Years - The Chain' in some CD shops for € 20.

Why has this done so badly in the US?

It's doing decently in the UK.

I still don't understand the election of some songs. It happened with 25 Years: The Chain, and happened now. I can understand they put all the well known songs -from the Buckingham-Nicks era-, but there's a few I don't understand...

- Sunny Side Of Heaven deserved a place. It's ok with Sentimental Lady, we love the song and it's well included, but Danny's one was simply the highest point of Bare Trees.

- Only Did You Ever Love Me from Penguin?? Remember Me, Bright Fire, Caught In The Rain...we had more -and maybe better- options...

- No love for Forever? At least the last track of Mystery To Me was not chosen...

- No love for Angel and Brown Eyes too...

- I'm So Afraid is a classic and had amazing versions in both live albums, Live and The Dance. But they were not included. But, we have NGBA...again...and not the best track from the 1980 album.

- 4 song from Mirage!! It's a miracle!!

- Tango In The Night...the forgotten one...

I can't speak about the songs from the first albums, because I didn't hear them so much...

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

It's a cool collection to stream. No reason to purchase it.
