Wow, Stevie's vocals sound AWFUL. Dreams is a mess, she doesn't even know the words, and Rhiannon is a sh&t show as well.
She pulls it out for Sara at least.

I've never been a fan of tribute bands but a small group of musicians from various bands did get together to perform Tusk from the first song to the last. They were very good. This was around 2008 probably. I went with another Ledgie.

If I could change one thing.....
As I was listening to several tracks today from Tusk the one thing I wish Lindsey would have done was to add Christine and Stevie’s vocals to more of his tracks. Save Me a Place, That’s All For Everyone and Walk a Thin Line comes to mind.

Some including Lindsey may say part of Tusk was Lindsey's first solo effort. He did say exactly that right after Tango comparing making both of the albums to the same process and formula. Tango started out as a Lindsey solo album and much of it was recorded by himself in his home studio.

Speaking of Tusk Rehearsals:
Does anybody have "Oh Daddy" from 10/19? That's the only track I'm missing from that day. Thanks!!

I love the rehearsals of Save Me A Place with Christine on guitar. Also, the harmonies on that song. And I also love the long version of Not That Funny (Mirage) on the upright. Would love to have seen Don't Stop on the Upright on the HBO special.

On the albums: In their history (Rumours 5) They've also had a back log of songs. It's just that during Tusk and after. LB started recording without them. Then either leaving members off, or adding them later. I think that's my main problem with some of the final material. Having said that, his work with Christine on Mirage and Tango is impressive. SYW, not so much of a chemistry even though some great songs came out of it.

It's for this reason that I particularly love all of side 4. Honey Hi--the harmonies! Never Forget--the harmonies! Beautiful Child--the descants! Walk a Thin Line--the harmonies! |

Love SYW as a testament to the duo's continued viability as songwriters. The set is strengthened by the trio's instrumentation. But it's so bifurcated. Christine is sorely missed. |
