Why Dolly Parton would not let Elvis sing her song
I found this interesting. Elvis was one of the biggest stars in the world and Dolly was flattered he wanted to sing her song. But Elvis wanted all rights to the song and she said no. Then Elvis's manager asked for 50% and she still said no. Very smart business woman besides being a great singer and entertainer. She made a fortune off Whitney's version. Dolly said she actually cried when Elvis would not sing and record it without owning it.
