lindsey has a golden throat in “caroline" and the drumming is high caliber.
after a few listens, the chorus is permanently hooked in my cranium!!!

lindsey’s meticulous production and instrumentation on the "tango in the night" album make audiophiles weep!

This song took a period of years to grow on me. I love it now, but I see why people can't get into it. It's very "tribal" sounding.

The music and Lindsey's vocals are gorgeous. I actually LOVE all of the lyrics to this song as well, except for "family man"...and especially the time it's sung really low . That's where the hate starts trickling in. I can't even put that bit off to it being the Eighties. It's just wrong. But then as soon as the other part kicks back in, I recover quickly . I even love the "I am what I am" part. The guitar is amazing and I love the samba beat. Or is it bossanova? If the low part was gone, and Lindsey was just something else other than "a family man" in the song, it would be one of my very faves I think. Since we can't alter history, I accept it the way it is.....

Though I'd much prefer to hear TITN live, I'd go for this one too...with an updated sound. It'd be cool. And to appease my dislike of the "family man" lyric, he could maybe chnge it to "Kristen's man" (and Stevie could echo) . Where's that puking emoticon? I know some of you will need it now. (Just for the record, I am not "hating" on Kristen here. )

Two things I love about this song

Christine's tarzan style vocals. Nice use of the reverb!

And the percussion!

you know I for yearsthoght that was Christine at the beginning and end of Caroline doing that wailing thing. But now for some reason I think it's Lindsey doing voice modulations. Does anyone know for sure.

I loved it immediately. The rhythm of that song is just amazing, nice drums there Mick.

Again with Lindsey and the minimal lyrics. I think he's trying to convey something with those child-like, choppy lyrics, like maybe the woman he's talking about is kind of, well...a child. Any thoughts?
