Default Christine

I've heard different opinions as to why Christine didnt go out on tour for Time. My personal theory is that she didnt care for the album, and the tour wouldnt have paid that much. I'd appriciate an informed opinion on this. Thank you

She didn't tour for "Time" because there was no tour for "Time."

During the BTM tour, she said that she would no longer tour, just record with the band. She'd had enough of the road. I think she did the Dance thing two years after Time as one last favor to Mick(as well as one last big payday for her).

That was before the album came out, which was kind of silly. Chris hardly wanted to be part of making the album (did it out of contractual obligations) , let alone tour for it.

I'd say that's a pretty damn compelling reason!

The tour ENDED about 6 weeks before the album was released. Fleetwood Mac didn't play in public again until The Dance.

And, she had to live up to her lyrics in All Over Again.

It's sad but true

she grew sick of touring to the point of retirement

I totally F*cked that one up. I know it probably comes across that I thought she toured that year. Strike 45 against yours truly.

That's okay. As mentioned, Christine wanted the BTM tour to be her last. Her dad died during the tour, and she realized that she wanted to spend more time with her family. Stevie also decided to not tour anymore with Fleetwood Mac, as she didn't want to be the lone singer/songwriter from "Rumours" still fronting the band. She too was going to just record, but then quit altogether. For most fans who followed the band closely, Christine's absence in 1994-1995 really wasn't a surprise. Personally, I wasn't holding my breath in 1997, and was happily surprised that Christine did the 40 dates.

Even if they HAD toured, Chris probably would have ended up murdering Dave Mason, whom she loathed.
