I LOVE the solos in those two songs. But, I think the solo was a collaboration between LB and John Stewart and that's why LB used it for his solo album and John Stewart used it for his solo album. I think there is an article out there where John talks about it. So I don't know if you can really call it "solo copying" since it was a collaboration.

It's not copying from Lindsey's own solo's, no. But it still is a carbon copy.
I meant solo as in guitarsolo's, not his 'solo work'.

Sorry, I meant guitar solo too. I was just trying to say that I don't think Lindsey "recycled" the guitar solo on the two songs because it was a collaboration b/w he and JS from which JS used it on Chilly Winds and LB used it L&O.

For anyone who hasn't heard it yet, here's John Stewart's Hiding In The Shadows.

I'm sorry, but that sounds nothing at all like Ravel's Le Gibet.

Well.. whether he recycled it or not, that wasn't my point. He could use identical themes for various reasons, I guess many artists do that.
I'm looking at this only from my spoiled 'listeners' viewpoint. When I hear a guitar solo in a song that I recognise from another song, then most of the time that doesn't make me go 'woopie, how great'. I'd rather hear something original in there.

For HITS-THWDIILA, both songs have plenty of other things going for them anyway, I guess that's one reason why it doesn't disturb me.

Deep Dense just doesn't have much that would excite me.

Yes' Relayer as a case-in-point.

It's the more finished one - whether you consider that first or second I don't know! lol

Default Round 3: Blue Turns to Grey

Won't do much in the end, but I'm voting for this anyway.
1- Not his own song
2- Sounds like he's slipping into a coma while singing it
3- Bores me. Not good in a mellow/chill-out kind of way.
