Default Surrender the Rain

I love this song and have listened to it countless times but Lindsey's howling at the end has always slipped past me. I guess I've always focused on the instrumentation and the more prominent "sighing" vocals, because the howling is a little further back in the mix....now it's my favorite part of the song. It starts when he sings the first of the three "surrender the rain" lines toward the end of the song.

Also, are those actual sleigh bells that play throughout, or just a guitar with some kind of effect?

Hmm...I'm still trying to pick out the howls you talking about, but it's just another excuse to listen to this wonderful song Probably my favourite from OOTC.

The "howling" starts just after the first of the three "surrender the rain" lines at the the the end of the song. They're a little far back in the mix, but he's def singing aaahhhh--woohooo or something along those lines.

I can't pick it out at all ... can you give a specific time in the track for when they start? I love those little intricacies in the mix!

They actually start earlier than I thought, right as he sings the first "surrender the rain" line. Try around 2:44 into the song. The howls definitely become a little more clear towards the end of the song. I think he mixed them kind of low and put a lot of echo on them, which is why they sound sort of far away.
