Default Gift Of Screws Tour Stories

This is the last tour stories thread of them all. Thank you all who have posted their stories. These threads were a lot of fun to do, and it was even more fun to learn insight about the band from all eras.

If you got to see Lindsey on the GOS tour please post here! Share any memories you have.

I got to see Lindsey near the very end of the tour, in Glenside PA. On the way into the venue, I heard Talk To Me playing across the street. We didn't have good seats, but it was a small venue so even though we were far back it wasn't that bad. I still had a nice view of Lindsey.

I thought the show was great! Standouts for me include Trouble, loved how it was done this tour and loved the lights during this song. The best song of the night was Shut Us Down, which is a favorite of mine and it's so amazing live. I love how Lindsey interacts with the crowd. People shot out a lot of song requests, and one guy kept saying "play whatever you want!" and Lindsey acknowledged that request. That's the nice part of the smaller venues.

My only problem was the set list with World Turning, ISA, and Come so close together. I admit I almost let out a yawn during the solo for one of those songs. Got it about halfway out, I think during ISA. But to be fair when I had closer seats for Unleashed, ISA blew me away. I think certain songs are best suited to the closer rows and it's easier to keep your attention.

Lindsey and the band were great and very thankful. Also, I think sad to see that the tour was over. Lindsey also said that he "will never stop"

I went to the Atlantic City and NYC shows and for a myriad of reasons, it was my first time seeing Lindsey live and in person. The AC show was amazing to me, and would have been regardless of anything because it was my first time seeing the man. I had managed to get myself up toward the front by the end of the show, though, and being so close and so in the moment with him and everyone else watching him was amazing to me.

The NYC show started off amazing simply because I didn't realize that the seats I had purchased were in the second row! It was less of an energetic crowd than AC but by the end, everyone was standing and surrounding the stage. I couldn't believe that I had one hand on the stage as I watched Lindsey Buckingham solo. It was like a dream come true, as cheesy as that sounds. I had also brought a friend with me that had just started listening to FM and Lindsey earlier in the year and had gotten hooked very quickly. It was fun to see it with someone who knew the music, yet didn't have the long history with it.

I clearly remember toward the end of the encores of that show, people were shouting out requests and there were a few for "Bleed to Love Her". I remember Brett nodding and saying "good song, good song" but when the final song came, it was, as per usual, "Time Precious Time". A little bit of me was like "aw, again" but as soon as Lindsey started playing, I was sold on the song choice. New York City was the last show of the tour and I don't think I had considered how apropos the song was at that moment until he started playing it. Seeing him perform solo on this tour completely assured me that he was happy, that he was there because he wanted to be and enjoyed performing his music for people who knew and appreciated him beyond Fleetwood Mac. The lyrics rang truer than they ever had for me before. "Take all the time that you want. Take all the time that you need. Slow and easy. You might succeed. Time, precious time, precious time, precious time. Remember." As I watched him, I thought of it all again. My 15 year old self seeing The Dance for the first time, the collecting of albums and videos, immersing myself in a world that wasn't mine. I realized that he was choking up a bit and as I saw him get more and more emotional as the song came closer to ending on this last night of the tour, I thought of just a little more. When he was my age, he was recording Rumours and now he's 59 years old, has a wife and three children and has finally seemed to find a peace that he has been looking for in his own career, balancing it with the mega-machine that is Fleetwood Mac and bringing it to the people who truly appreciate it. It took a long time to reach that point, but it seemed so clear that the rewards were worth the wait in that moment.

I wrote a novel there, but that performance and that moment is something that will stick in my mind for a long time to come.

That was a really sweet review. I saw him at the HOB in Chicago again. I had a bad cold I was recovering from, and in order to stay inside I was forced to spend $30 in the gift shop. Gotta love the HOB. I remember security being fairly tight, but I was able to get away taking pictures and video. No flash, people! The show was incredible as usual. It was around his birthday and he brought Kristen on stage. She looked a little embarrassed. Nancy (sodascouts) and a couple of her friends made a sweet birthday banner for him, which he appreciated. Other than that I don't remember much, although a lot of ledgies were there, and it's always interesting talking to everyone and hearing their stories.
