I'll say GYOW, in that it is a true rock anthem.
But.... I think the live version of Rhiannon (circa 1975) was THE best. The vocal harmonies were there, there was a lot of extended tasty playing from the players, Stevie became possessed. Really, it was the perfect live song. Also, the early live versions of Over My Head were also amazing. The bottom line, for me, is that, even with Rumours, Fleetwood Mac was at it's absolute peak during that 1975-76 era. As players, they all got better afterwards, but the fire of those live shows simply could not be topped. I'd love for those five, AND ONLY THOSE FIVE, to do one no bullsh*t show. They may actually surprise everybody, including themselves. But, they're all a bunch of p*ssies at this point.

Well no one really responded but if anyone is interested let me know.
I was thinking of starting the countdown on the Pre-rumours forum and the Rumours forum. Anyone knowledgeable of the Peter Green era? Who sung which songs, etc. Let me know! Last edited by MacShadowsBall; 12-07-2010 at 07:07 PM.. |

I think you should do it. Rather than by vocalist, do eliminaton by album, then do the top song from each album together to fnd the fave song.
Now, the real question is whether or not Silver Springs should be on the Rumours contest. |

MissLadyLoki, thanks for your interest! At least we got one!
"Silver Springs" does present a problem. I think the best thing to do is to only consider the original tracks from the original album release. So "Silver Springs" would not count as a Rumours song. Also songs on non-studio best-of type albums would not count either. However those songs like "Silver Springs", "As Long as You Follow", etc. would count on a separate poll based on vocalist and decade. |

We've been doing on the Blondie site for over a year now We did Blondie albums, Blondie B-sides and extras, Debbie Harry Albums and Debbie Harry b-sides and extras and then we're going to do a poll of all the winners. Like I say a year.

I suppose we'll get started today with Christine's songs from the 1975 Fleetwood Mac album and Jeremy Spencer's songs from the first Fleetwood Mac album! |

Hello MacShadows: I've already commented on Christine's songs, so you know I think it's a good idea. Although it will take a long time to determine, it's something we will have fun with for quite a while. Best regards, Madelow.

This "contest" will definitely take a long time, but will be fun and quite interesting.
If the Mods see this, I would like to maintain a thread, this one or a separate one to keep Ledgies up to date on the lasted happenings with this "contest." Perhaps being able to update the thread title, I know how to edit my first post. Perhaps even if this thread could be a sticky , if think that's what it's called! Whatever could be done is great! |

You should keep a running tally of the final album winners here, no? Anyway, here's hoping at this point

I probably need to, I'm starting to get confused on which songs won and which songs didn't. It's been fun though!
